What does private health insurance cover and who is insured?
Private health insurance for diplomats is specifically tailored to the country of residence, Germany, and usually also provides coverage for other countries. For accompanying family members, embassy visitors and delegations, additional incoming insurance policies can be taken out at very favorable premiums. Domestic staff, guests or private visitors can also be insured on a short or long-term basis. Individual and group contracts can often be concluded without a health check. For group contracts of 5 diplomats or more, the health check is not required.
